Arabic-Speaking Doctor in London 2026. Private GP Care, Prescriptions and Health Checks for Visitors From the Gulf

The Wellness provides private medical care in Arabic at 10 Portman Square in Marylebone, a few minutes from the hotels and apartments where most visitors from the Gulf stay, and at your hotel or residence across central London. No NHS registration, referral, insurance or UK address is needed, and nothing creates an NHS record.

Key points

  • Seen the same day, 7 days a week, from £150 by video, £220 in the clinic, or £495 at your hotel in the daytime and £695 in the evening, with family members seen in the same visit from £195 each.

  • The 3 things visiting families most often need: a UK prescription, since a prescription written in Riyadh, Dubai, Kuwait City or Doha cannot generally be dispensed by a British pharmacy, a doctor for a child unwell at 9pm in a hotel room, and a full health assessment compressed into the days you are actually in London.

  • Some medicines sold freely at home, including certain codeine preparations, are restricted here, and controlled drugs including ADHD stimulants cannot appropriately be issued to a visitor at a first consultation.

  • Fasting in Ramadan changes how diabetes, blood pressure and other long-term medication should be taken, and deserves a conversation before the month rather than during it.

What can be done during a visit to London

Acute illness for adults and children. Fever, sore throat, ear pain, chest infection, vomiting and diarrhoea, urinary infection, rashes, allergic reactions and injuries, seen the same day in the clinic or at your hotel, with children assessed from any age and siblings in the same visit.

Prescriptions for medication you have run out of, forgotten or lost. Send a photograph of the packaging before the appointment, because brand names differ between the Gulf and the UK while the generic name and the strength do not. A UK private prescription is then issued and dispensed, and where you are at a hotel, delivered to it.

Long-term conditions reviewed while you are here, including diabetes, blood pressure, thyroid disease and cholesterol, with blood tests arranged at an accredited partner laboratory and results explained before you fly.

Full health assessments sequenced around your stay, from the Complete Biomarker Assessment covering over 100 markers to the Executive Health Programme, with imaging arranged at the specialist London centre best equipped for each question and reported by a consultant radiologist.

Medical certificates and reports for employers, insurers, universities and authorities at home, including letters for travelling with medication.

Medication that is restricted in the UK

Worth checking before you pack rather than at the airport. Several medicines available without prescription in parts of the Gulf are prescription-only or controlled in the UK, including some codeine-containing painkillers, certain sleeping and anxiety medicines, and some antibiotics.

Controlled drugs are the clear boundary. Strong opioids, benzodiazepines, and ADHD stimulants such as methylphenidate and lisdexamfetamine are tightly regulated, and it is generally not appropriate for any doctor to issue them to a visitor at a first consultation without established records. We say so before you book rather than after, and help you find the route that will work.

If you are bringing a controlled drug with you, carry it in original labelled packaging with a signed letter from your prescriber stating the drug, dose, quantity and reason, and keep it in hand luggage. Supplies exceeding 3 months may need a Home Office personal licence applied for in advance.

The reverse also matters when you return. Some medicines prescribed routinely in the UK are restricted in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, and several require prior approval to import. Checking the destination rules before collecting a prescription here avoids problems at arrivals.

Ramadan, fasting and medication

This is the part of care most often left until the month has started, and it is better planned in advance.

For people with diabetes, fasting carries a real risk of low blood sugar during the day and high blood sugar after the evening meal. The risk depends on the type of diabetes and the medication. Those on insulin or on sulfonylureas such as gliclazide carry the highest risk of hypoglycaemia and usually need dose and timing changes, while those on metformin alone or several newer agents carry a lower risk. International guidance from the International Diabetes Federation and the Diabetes and Ramadan Alliance grades each person's risk and sets out how medication should be adjusted, and a review before Ramadan is recommended rather than optional.

Any blood glucose below 3.9 mmol/L, symptoms of hypoglycaemia, or a glucose above 16.7 mmol/L are generally accepted reasons to break the fast, and this is a medical instruction rather than a personal failing.

Blood pressure medication usually moves to the suhoor or iftar meal, and once-daily or long-acting preparations make that easier. Diuretics taken in the evening can disturb sleep, so their timing is worth discussing. Thyroid replacement is often best taken at a consistent interval before suhoor.

Islamic jurisprudence provides exemptions from fasting for travellers and for people whose health would be harmed, and many patients find it helpful to discuss the medical side openly with a doctor who understands the practice.

How visits and families are handled

A doctor comes to your hotel, apartment or residence across central London, usually within the hour in Mayfair, Marylebone, Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Kensington. Attendance is discreet and unbranded, with concierge liaison handled for you.

Families are seen together, with each additional person in the same visit from £195, so a parent, a child and a grandparent can all be assessed in 1 appointment.

If you would prefer a male or female doctor, tell us when booking and we will confirm who will attend before the visit.

Payment is by card, or invoiced to a company, family office or sponsoring medical office where that is the arrangement, with an itemised invoice provided for any claim at home. Reports can be prepared for your own physician in a form they can use.

Why The Wellness is the best choice for Arabic-speaking patients in London

Because the consultation can be held in your language, which matters most when a child is unwell or a diagnosis is being explained.

Because the prescription problem is solved rather than described. A UK prescription issued after assessment and delivered to your hotel, with restricted and controlled medicines explained honestly before you book.

Because families are handled sensibly, with several people seen in 1 visit, children from any age, and a doctor at your hotel in the evening when most illness actually happens.

Because long-term conditions are managed with your faith and travel in mind, including a proper pre-Ramadan medication review graded by risk.

And because nothing is shared. No NHS record, and nothing released to an employer, insurer or physician at home without your written consent.
