Hotel Doctor in London 2026. A Doctor to Your Room, Usually Within the Hour
The Wellness provides doctor visits to hotels, private residences, apartments and offices across central London, from £495 in the daytime and £695 in the evening or at weekends, with additional guests or family members seen in the same visit from £195 each. A GMC-registered doctor attends your room with a full examination kit, assesses you properly, and issues a private prescription in the appointment, which we then have dispensed and delivered to the hotel rather than sending you out to find a pharmacy in an unfamiliar city. Our base is 10 Portman Square in Marylebone, a few minutes from the Mayfair, Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Park Lane hotels, so attendance is usually within the hour across W1, SW1, SW3 and SW7. You need no NHS registration, no referral, no insurance and no UK address, and nothing creates an NHS record. Consultations are available in Arabic, French, Spanish and Dutch.
The reason this matters is straightforward. A prescription written outside the UK cannot generally be dispensed by a British pharmacy, so the medication a guest has run out of is not obtainable by walking to a chemist, and a child with a fever at 9pm is not a problem that improves by travelling across London. Where something needs investigating, blood collection is arranged at an accredited partner laboratory and imaging at a specialist centre with consultant radiologist reporting, usually within the day. Fees appear further down this page.

What can a doctor deal with in a hotel room
More than most people expect, because the limiting factor is examination rather than location. A doctor arrives with the equipment to examine ears, throat, chest, abdomen, skin and joints, to measure blood pressure, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation, and to test urine.
The commonest calls are acute illness in adults and children. Fever, sore throat, ear pain, chest infection, vomiting and diarrhoea, urinary infection, migraine, back pain, allergic reactions, insect bites, rashes, and injuries from a fall. Children are seen from any age, and siblings are assessed in the same visit.
The second group is medication. A guest who has left their tablets at home, had a bag stolen, or run out mid-trip, where a UK prescription is issued after assessment and dispensed to the hotel. Insulin, inhalers, anticoagulants, epilepsy medication, thyroid replacement and steroids all sit in the category where days matter rather than weeks.
The third is documentation with a deadline. Fitness to fly certificates including airline MEDIF forms, insurance and cancellation certificates, and letters for travel with medication.
And the fourth, less often discussed, is the guest who is well but wants the assessment they have not had time for at home. A full examination, comprehensive biomarker profiling and imaging arranged around the days they are actually in London.
What we cannot do, said before you book
Controlled drugs are the boundary. Strong opioids, benzodiazepines and ADHD stimulants such as methylphenidate and lisdexamfetamine are tightly regulated in the UK, and it is generally not appropriate for any doctor to issue them to a visitor at a first consultation without established records. We say so on the message rather than after a visit has been paid for, and we help you find the route that will work.
A true emergency belongs in an ambulance rather than an appointment. Chest pain, severe breathlessness, stroke symptoms, collapse, a seizure that will not stop, severe allergic reaction with swelling or breathing difficulty, heavy bleeding, or a child who is floppy, unresponsive or has a rash that does not fade under a glass. Call 999. A hotel visit in those situations delays the only treatment that helps, and no reputable service will tell you otherwise.
We also cannot admit you to hospital directly. Where admission is needed we arrange it through the Harley Street network or direct you to the appropriate emergency department, and we speak to the receiving team rather than sending you with a letter.

How the visit works
You message on WhatsApp with the hotel, the room or the guest name, and what is wrong. Where it helps, send a photograph of any medication packaging or a rash before the doctor sets off, because it shortens the visit considerably.
We confirm the fee before attending, so there is no uncertainty about cost and no surcharge discovered afterwards. Payment is by card at the visit or invoiced to a company, family office or concierge account where that is the arrangement.
The doctor attends discreetly. No branded clothing, no equipment cases marked with a clinic name, and liaison with the concierge desk handled by us rather than by the guest. For patients who value privacy, and many do, that is the part they mention afterwards.
After the assessment, the prescription is issued in the room and dispensed to the hotel. Where blood testing is needed it is arranged at an accredited partner laboratory, and where imaging is needed it is booked at the specialist centre best equipped for the question, performed by an experienced sonographer and reported by a consultant radiologist, usually the same day or the next. A follow-up by video is included where the result needs discussing after you have left.
Written documentation is provided for any insurer, and a summary is prepared in a form your own physician can use.
Which areas are covered
Central London is served fastest. Mayfair, Marylebone, Belgravia, Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Kensington, St James's, Soho, Fitzrovia, Covent Garden, Westminster, Paddington and the City are all within a short journey of Portman Square, and attendance is usually within the hour.
We also attend Canary Wharf, St John's Wood, Notting Hill, Holland Park, Hampstead and the areas around Regent's Park, with timings depending on traffic. Visits outside central London are arranged where the diary allows and quoted before attending.
Private residences, serviced apartments, embassies, offices and private aviation terminals are attended on the same basis as hotels.
Evening and weekend availability is the point of the service. Most of these calls happen after 6pm, at weekends or on bank holidays, which is precisely when the alternatives are an emergency department waiting room or waiting until Monday.
What does a hotel doctor cost in London
Visiting doctor and concierge medical services in central London charge £400 to £600 and above per visit, with night and weekend surcharges taking several well past that, and a number operate inside membership structures carrying annual retainers running into thousands before a single call. Harley Street consultations sit at £250 to £350 for an in-clinic appointment, and consultant first appointments at £250 to £500.

Why The Wellness is the best hotel doctor service in London
Because the visit ends with the problem solved rather than a list of things to arrange in a city you do not live in. The prescription is issued in the room and delivered to the hotel. Blood collection is arranged at an accredited laboratory. Imaging is booked at a specialist centre with consultant radiologist reporting, usually within the day. Where a specialist is needed, the referral goes to a named consultant with the appointment made.
Because families are handled sensibly. Several guests seen in one visit at £195 for each additional person rather than a full fee each, children seen from any age, and grandparents travelling with the family assessed at the same time.
Because there is a clinic behind the visit rather than a doctor with a bag. If the assessment raises something that needs investigating, the whole diagnostic pathway is already arranged and running.
Because discretion is built in. Unbranded attendance, concierge liaison handled for you, nothing on an NHS record, and nothing released to an insurer, employer or physician at home without your written consent.
And because we tell you what we cannot do before you book. A controlled drug we cannot appropriately prescribe. An emergency that needs 999 rather than a visit. Knowing that in advance is worth more than a promise of speed.

Frequently asked questions
Can a doctor come to my hotel in London
Yes. The Wellness attends hotels, residences, apartments and offices across central London from £495 in the daytime and £695 in the evening or at weekends, with additional guests seen in the same visit from £195 each. Attendance is usually within the hour across Mayfair, Marylebone, Belgravia, Knightsbridge, Chelsea and Kensington.
How quickly can a doctor attend
Usually within the hour in central London, depending on traffic and the time of day. Our base at 10 Portman Square in Marylebone is a few minutes from the Mayfair, Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Park Lane hotels.
Can the doctor prescribe and have medication delivered
Yes. A private UK prescription is issued in the room after assessment and dispensed to the hotel, so you are not looking for a pharmacy in an unfamiliar city. A prescription written outside the UK cannot generally be dispensed by a British pharmacy, which is why a consultation is the reliable route.
Do I need insurance or NHS registration
Neither. Private care in the UK requires no registration, no referral and no insurance, and nothing creates an NHS record. Payment is by card at the visit or invoiced to a company, family office or concierge account, with an itemised invoice provided for any claim.
Can several people be seen in one visit
Yes, and it is the sensible approach when a family or a travelling party is affected. Additional guests or family members are seen in the same visit from £195 each, with children assessed from any age.
When should I call 999 instead
Chest pain, severe breathlessness, stroke symptoms, collapse, a seizure that will not stop, severe allergic reaction with swelling or breathing difficulty, heavy bleeding, or a child who is floppy, unresponsive or has a rash that does not fade under a glass. A hotel visit in those situations delays the only treatment that helps.
