What is an insurance medical report?
An insurance medical report is a formal written assessment completed by a GMC-registered doctor at the request of an insurer, employer, solicitor, or the patient themselves. Who requests insurance medical reports?
Reports are requested by life insurers, income protection providers, critical illness insurers, travel insurers, employers, HR departments, occupational health teams, solicitors, and patients preparing their own evidence for a claim or appeal. The insurer or solicitor normally provides a specific proforma; if no proforma is supplied, our doctors draft the report to ABI or APIL standards as appropriate.
GP letter and sick note (UK Med3)
