You get a diagnosis where one can be made, a private prescription sent electronically to a pharmacy near you, a fit note, a referral to a named consultant with the appointment arranged, or a blood form for an accredited laboratory close to where you live. NHS general practice delivered 31.8 million consultations in February 2026 and only 44.4 percent happened on the day they were booked, with around 1 in 6 taking longer than 2 weeks and 28 percent of patients reporting a poor experience simply trying to book.

What video handles well
Prescriptions and repeats, including medication you have run out of, travel medication and contraception. Sent electronically to a pharmacy near you or to a delivery service, usually within the hour.
Skin problems, which video handles better than the phone and often better than people expect. Rashes, acne, eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections, hair loss and lesions you are worried about can be seen clearly on camera, and a photograph sent beforehand gives the doctor a head start.
Results you do not understand. A blood test from anywhere, a scan report, a letter from a specialist, a printout from a subscription platform. Send it before the appointment and spend the 30 minutes on what it means rather than on reading it.
Then the ongoing things. Mental health, anxiety and low mood. Menopause and HRT reviews. Thyroid, blood pressure and cholesterol follow-ups. Fit notes and sick notes. Referral letters. Travel health advice and vaccination planning. Fertility and sexual health questions. Second opinions on a diagnosis you were given in 8 minutes and have been turning over ever since.
When video is the wrong choice, and what we do instead
A chest that needs listening to. An abdomen that needs pressing. An ear that needs looking into. A lump that needs feeling. A child with a fever, where the examination is most of the diagnosis. In those situations a video appointment that pretends otherwise is worse than useless, and any service willing to prescribe blindly for them is telling you something about itself.
We handle it 2 ways. If you are in London, we bring you into the Marylebone clinic, 3 minutes from Baker Street, for a 30-minute appointment with a full examination from £220, or send a doctor to your home, hotel or office from £495 during the day and £695 evenings and weekends. If you are elsewhere in the UK, we tell you plainly that this needs hands on it, and we help you work out the fastest route locally rather than taking your money for an appointment that cannot answer the question.
Bloods are the other thing worth explaining. We do not draw blood over video for obvious reasons, and we do not run a laboratory ourselves. What we do is issue a form for an accredited laboratory near you, or arrange collection at a partner laboratory a few minutes from the Marylebone clinic, then interpret the results with you properly.

How the appointment works
You message us, usually on WhatsApp, and tell us the problem. We tell you which appointment fits, what it will cost and what it can achieve, before you pay. If video is not the right format, we say so at that point.
Send anything useful in advance. Photographs of a rash or a lesion. A medication list or a photo of the packaging. Previous test results. A specialist letter. The doctor reads it before you join, so the 30 minutes goes on your problem.
The appointment runs by secure video on any phone, tablet or laptop, with no app to install. During it you get an assessment, an explanation and a plan. Afterwards you get the prescription sent to a pharmacy, the fit note by email, the referral written and the consultant appointment arranged, or the laboratory form issued. If something turns out to need an examination or a scan, we arrange that too, at a specialist centre reported by a consultant radiologist.
Nothing creates an NHS record. Nothing is shared with your NHS practice without your written consent. Consultations are available in Arabic, French, Spanish and Dutch.
What it costs
