If you live or work in South London and want to see a doctor without a long wait, you have three routes with The Online GP by The Wellness. A doctor can visit you at home or at your hotel, you can speak to a GP by video, or you can be seen in person. The right route depends on what your concern needs, and this page helps you choose.
Enquire by WhatsApp, telephone or email, and tell the team where you are and what you need. They will advise on the format before anything is booked.
Home and hotel visits across South London
A doctor can come to you at home or at your hotel across South London, including Clapham, Battersea, Wandsworth, Wimbledon, Dulwich, Greenwich, Richmond and the areas between. The appointment is private and unhurried, and the doctor can take a history, examine you, prescribe where appropriate and arrange onward care from the visit.
This route suits anyone too unwell to travel comfortably, visitors staying south of the river, and families who would rather be seen at home. You can read more about how visits work on our home visit doctor page.
Video consultations when an examination is not essential
Much of general practice can be handled well by video. A video consultation gives you a doctor's full attention and a clear plan, and where appropriate a private prescription, a referral or a fit note, without travelling.
Video does not replace every physical examination. The General Medical Council's principles for remote prescribing require an adequate clinical assessment before any prescription is issued, so if the doctor judges you need to be seen in person they will say so plainly and arrange the quickest suitable route.
When to be seen in person
Some concerns need hands-on assessment. Ear, throat, abdominal and joint problems, anything needing observations, and tests such as blood work are usually better in person. Our same day urgent appointment route covers in-person care at our Marylebone clinic, a short journey from most of South London by tube, train or car.
Many patients south of the river use a mixture of all three routes. Video for straightforward matters, a home visit when travelling is the harder option, and the clinic when examination or tests are needed.
What a consultation costs
A telephone consultation is £59, a video consultation £150 and an in-person GP consultation £220. The team will confirm the right service, availability and any separate test or treatment costs before you book. These are consultation fees, not a promise of a prescription or a particular outcome.
