Private STI Testing and Sexual Health Clinic in London: Confidential, Same-Day Results

If you think you may have been exposed to a sexually transmitted infection, waiting weeks for an NHS sexual health clinic appointment is not realistic. You want answers — quickly, discreetly, and from a doctor who takes the time to explain the results properly.

What We Test For

Standard STI Screen

Our standard screen covers the most common sexually transmitted infections in the UK. It includes urine testing or swabs for chlamydia and gonorrhoea, and blood tests for HIV (1 and 2 antibodies plus p24 antigen), syphilis, and hepatitis B surface antigen. This covers the infections that Public Health England considers the priority for routine sexual health screening.

Comprehensive STI Panel

Our comprehensive panel adds testing for hepatitis C, herpes simplex (HSV-1 and HSV-2) antibodies, mycoplasma genitalium, ureaplasma, and trichomonas vaginalis. This is recommended for patients who want thorough reassurance, those with symptoms that the standard screen does not cover, or those with multiple or anonymous sexual partners.

Individual Tests

If you know specifically what you need — for example, an HIV test after a particular exposure, or a hepatitis screen for travel or occupational reasons — we can arrange individual tests without requiring a full panel.

Throat and Rectal Swabs

For patients who have had oral or anal sex, throat and rectal swabs for chlamydia and gonorrhoea are important. These sites can harbour infection without any symptoms, and standard urine tests will not detect them. We provide throat and rectal screening as part of a comprehensive assessment.

Complete Confidentiality

Privacy is often the primary concern for patients seeking STI testing, and we take it seriously.

No NHS notification. We do not send results to your NHS GP, create any record in the NHS system, or notify any third party. Your results are communicated directly to you and to no one else.

No bank statement trace. Our clinic name on card statements is discreet.

No waiting room names. You are seen promptly in a private consultation room. We do not call out names in a waiting area.

No judgement. Our doctors see sexual health patients daily. Whatever your situation — a new partner, a broken condom, infidelity concerns, sex work, or simply wanting routine screening — you will be treated with professionalism and respect. No lectures. No assumptions.

Testing Windows — When to Get Tested

Different infections have different testing windows. Getting tested too early after exposure can produce false negative results. Here is what our doctors advise.

Chlamydia and gonorrhoea. Can be reliably detected from 14 days (2 weeks) after potential exposure using PCR-based testing. Do not pass urine for at least 2 hours before a urine test, as this can dilute the sample.

HIV. Fourth-generation tests (antibody/antigen combined) are reliable from 28 days (4 weeks) after exposure. For earlier detection, RNA-based tests can detect HIV from as early as 10 days, though these are more expensive.

Syphilis. Blood tests become reliable from approximately 4 weeks after exposure, though some cases may take up to 12 weeks to produce detectable antibodies.

Hepatitis B and C. Generally detectable from 4-6 weeks after exposure, though confirmatory testing at 12 weeks may be recommended.

Herpes (HSV). Swab testing of active lesions is the most reliable method. Blood antibody tests can detect past infection but have limitations — your doctor will discuss whether herpes testing is appropriate for your situation.

If you are unsure when to test, contact us and our doctors will advise the optimal timing based on when exposure occurred and what symptoms, if any, you are experiencing.

Don't wait and worry. WhatsApp us and we will arrange a same-day appointment.

Treatment

If any of your results are positive, our doctors will explain the diagnosis, discuss treatment options, and — for bacterial infections like chlamydia, gonorrhoea, and syphilis — prescribe antibiotics immediately. Many bacterial STIs are cured with a single course of antibiotics when treated promptly.

For viral infections (HIV, hepatitis, herpes), we provide clear information about what the diagnosis means, management options, and referral to specialist services where appropriate. An HIV diagnosis, while life-changing, is now a manageable long-term condition with effective antiretroviral treatment — and early detection makes a significant difference to outcomes.

We also discuss partner notification — whether and how to inform sexual partners who may need testing. This is always your decision, and we support you with information and resources to handle it in whatever way feels right for you.

Why Private STI Testing?

Speed. NHS sexual health clinics in London are under enormous pressure. Walk-in services often involve long waits, and booked appointments can be weeks away. When you are anxious about a potential exposure, every day of waiting amplifies the stress.

Privacy. Some patients prefer private testing because they do not want STI results appearing in their NHS medical record, they want to avoid being seen at a local sexual health clinic, or they value the discretion of a private GP consultation.

Thoroughness. A private consultation gives your doctor time to take a full sexual health history, recommend the right tests for your situation, and explain results comprehensively. NHS walk-in clinics, while excellent, are often operating at capacity and may not provide the same level of individualised attention.

Multilingual care. Discussing sexual health in a second language adds an unnecessary layer of difficulty. Our doctors consult in English, Arabic, Spanish, French, and Dutch.
