Our Doctors 2026. Who You See at The Wellness and Why It Matters
At The Wellness you see an experienced, GMC-registered doctor, not a nurse, a physician associate or a call handler, and your appointment lasts 30 minutes rather than the 10 that are common elsewhere. General practice is led by our Head of Primary Care, a GP with membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners and postgraduate diplomas in child health and in sexual and reproductive health, so one doctor can manage adult medicine, women's health and unwell children in the same visit. Skin, mole and minor procedure cases are led by a GP with a Master's degree in dermatology from King's College London. Specialist opinions are arranged with consultants through the Harley Street network, chosen for the specific question rather than because they are on our payroll, and psychiatric care including ADHD assessment is provided by consultant psychiatrists. Patients can return to the doctor who knows them, and every result, report and letter is held in one record. Appointments are available the same day, 7 days a week, at 10 Portman Square in Marylebone, by video, or at your home or hotel. Fees appear further down this page.

Who leads general practice at The Wellness
General practice is led by our Head of Primary Care, who sets the clinical standards the rest of the service follows. The role requires MRCGP, membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners, which is awarded only after completing specialist training in general practice and passing the College's assessments.
Our Head of Primary Care also holds DFFP, the diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning, now the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, and DCH, the diploma in child health. Together those cover the breadth that private general practice demands, from contraception and women's health to unwell children, alongside adult medicine and long-term conditions.
Who will I see for everyday GP care
For same-day illness, prescriptions, blood test interpretation, referrals, fit notes and medical certificates, you see one of our GPs. Every one is fully qualified and GMC-registered, and every one works to the same clinical standards and the same 30-minute appointment.
Many patients choose to see the same doctor each time they return. That continuity is where much of the value in general practice lies, because a doctor who knows your history notices change sooner and wastes none of your appointment starting again.
Who handles skin, moles and minor procedures
Dermatology, skin and minor procedure cases are led by a GP with a Master's degree in dermatology from King's College London, which gives training in skin disease well beyond standard general practice.
Patients are seen for mole checks and changing skin lesions, acne, rosacea, eczema and other skin conditions, lump and lesion assessment, and minor procedures including lesion removal with histology. The same doctor gives an independent second opinion on skin cases seen elsewhere.

What should I look for in a private doctor
A doctor, not a substitute. Many services now route first appointments to nurses, pharmacists or physician associates. That suits some problems, but if you are paying privately you should know who you will see before you book.
Time. A 10-minute appointment leaves room for one problem and little examination. Thirty minutes allows a proper history, an examination, red flags to be checked and a decision to be explained.
Expertise matched to the problem. MRCGP for general practice, and specific postgraduate training where you need it, such as dermatology, child health or sexual health.
Continuity. The option to see the same doctor again, with your records held in one place.
Which specialists do you work with
We own no scanner and no laboratory, and we do not employ every specialty. Instead we arrange specialist opinions with consultants through the Harley Street network, chosen for the specific question. Imaging is arranged at the London centre best equipped for each question, performed by experienced sonographers and reported by consultant radiologists, and blood analysis is performed by accredited partner laboratories.
That independence is deliberate. When a clinic owns the equipment or employs the specialist, there is an incentive to use them. When it does not, the referral goes to whoever is best placed to help.
Psychiatric care, including ADHD assessment, is provided by consultant psychiatrists as a separate appointment from GP care.
What it costs to see our doctors
Harley Street GP consultations sit at £250 to £350, consultant first appointments at £250 to £500, and membership practices in central London charge annual retainers running into thousands and then £400 to £600 or more per visit.
At The Wellness each appointment is a single fee, with prescriptions, fit notes and referral letters included. All figures are from prices.
