Well Woman Health Check London: Comprehensive Private Screening for Women
The Online GP by The Wellness provides comprehensive well woman health checks from our Marylebone clinic, designed to give you a thorough picture of your health at every stage of life. Our women's health screening combines targeted blood panels (from £295), hormone testing, pelvic and breast ultrasound (Women's Body Scan at £395), and a detailed GP consultation. Every assessment is conducted by a GMC-registered doctor, with the option to see a female doctor if preferred. Results are interpreted in clinical context and discussed with you in person, not sent as a raw report. No NHS referral or registration is required.

Why Women Need Proactive Health Screening
Women's health needs are complex, change significantly across the lifespan, and are frequently underserved by time-pressured NHS appointments. Many conditions that disproportionately affect women, including thyroid disorders, iron deficiency anaemia, vitamin D deficiency, polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, and hormonal imbalance, cause symptoms that are vague, nonspecific, and easily dismissed as stress, tiredness, or "just one of those things."
A well woman health check takes the opposite approach. Instead of waiting until symptoms are severe enough to demand attention, proactive screening investigates your health systematically, identifies issues early, and provides a baseline against which future changes can be measured.
Consider the statistics. Thyroid disorders affect approximately 1 in 20 women in the UK, with many cases undiagnosed for years because symptoms (fatigue, weight changes, hair loss, mood disturbances) are attributed to other causes. Iron deficiency anaemia affects approximately 1 in 4 women of reproductive age globally and is one of the most common causes of fatigue, brain fog, and exercise intolerance. Vitamin D deficiency affects approximately 1 in 5 UK adults, with higher rates in women, and contributes to fatigue, bone health deterioration, and immune dysfunction. Polycystic ovary syndrome affects approximately 1 in 10 women of reproductive age and is frequently underdiagnosed.
A single blood test can screen for all of these. A well woman health check identifies them before they cause significant harm.
Our Women's Health Screening Options
Women's Health Blood Panel (from £295). Comprehensive blood testing tailored to women's health priorities. Includes full blood count, iron studies (ferritin, serum iron, TIBC), vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate, thyroid function (TSH, free T3, free T4), liver and kidney function, lipid profile (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides), diabetes markers (HbA1c, fasting glucose), inflammatory markers (CRP), and calcium/bone health markers. A female hormone panel (oestrogen, progesterone, LH, FSH, prolactin, testosterone, SHBG) can be added for assessment of menstrual irregularities, fertility, perimenopause, or hormonal imbalance. A 30-minute doctor consultation is included to review all results.
Women's Body Scan (£395). Combines pelvic ultrasound, bilateral breast ultrasound, and thyroid ultrasound in a single appointment. All scans are performed by a GMC-registered doctor with same-day results. This package provides imaging assessment of the three areas most commonly affected by conditions specific to women: the reproductive organs (ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometrial abnormalities), the breasts (lumps, cysts, structural changes), and the thyroid (nodules, goitre, inflammation).
Fertility Scan Package (£395). Includes pelvic ultrasound, antral follicle count, and endometrial assessment. When combined with blood tests for AMH, FSH, LH, oestradiol, thyroid function, and prolactin, this provides a thorough baseline fertility assessment for women considering pregnancy or preparing for assisted conception.
Executive Body Scan (£695). Our most comprehensive assessment, including extensive blood work, full abdominal ultrasound, echocardiogram, carotid Doppler, thyroid scan, and a detailed doctor consultation. Suitable for women who want the most thorough possible health audit.

Women's Health at Every Stage
In your 20s and 30s. A baseline health check establishes your normal values for thyroid, iron, vitamins, and hormones. This is also the ideal time for fertility awareness screening if you are thinking about future pregnancy. Cervical screening begins at age 25 on the NHS. HPV vaccination, if missed at school, remains valuable. Sexual health screening is recommended for anyone who is sexually active, particularly with new partners.
In your 40s. Cardiovascular risk screening becomes increasingly important, as heart disease is the single biggest killer of women in the UK (not breast cancer, as many assume). Thyroid function should be checked regularly, as the risk of thyroid disorders increases with age. Perimenopause typically begins in the mid-40s, and hormone testing can help clarify whether your symptoms (irregular periods, hot flushes, mood changes, sleep disturbance, brain fog) are related to hormonal changes.
In your 50s and beyond. Menopause management, cardiovascular risk reduction, bone health (osteoporosis screening via blood tests and, where indicated, referral for DEXA scanning), diabetes screening, and cancer awareness become priorities. The NHS breast screening programme begins at age 50, but private breast ultrasound is available at any age for women with symptoms or concerns.
Perimenopause and Menopause Care
Perimenopause and menopause affect every woman differently, and many women find that their symptoms are inadequately addressed by NHS services. The average NHS GP consultation of 9.6 minutes does not allow enough time to properly discuss the wide-ranging symptoms of menopause, explore treatment options, weigh up the risks and benefits of HRT, and develop a personalised management plan.
At The Online GP by The Wellness, our doctors provide the time, expertise, and personalised attention that menopause care deserves. A menopause consultation includes a thorough symptom review across all affected systems (vasomotor, psychological, musculoskeletal, urogenital, cognitive), blood testing to assess hormone levels and rule out other causes of your symptoms, a discussion of all treatment options including HRT (patches, gels, tablets, combined and oestrogen-only), non-hormonal alternatives, and lifestyle modifications, and an ongoing management plan with regular follow-up.
If you are already on HRT and want a medication review, or if you are considering starting HRT and want a thorough, unhurried discussion about whether it is right for you, we are here to help.
